Spring has only just arrived and between 5 and 9 April, Perugia will be a journalism capital, spotlighting words and events of a thousand colours.
The 11th edition of the International Journalism Festival takes place from Wednesday, 5 April to Sunday, 9 April.
Back in 2006, the first edition of a festival that summoned professional journalists to Perugia to meet with ordinary citizens over a period of a few days for free discussions was organized. Ideas flew freely in Perugia’s famous theatres such as the Morlacchi and the Pavone and made it finally to the precious sala dei Notari in the Palazzo dei Priori.
Events were offered free of charge from morning to night throughout the city and just as many free formation sessions were included.
Among this year’s better known journalists, Giovanni Floris will be here on 6 April, presenting his book Quella notte sono io, on the basis of which a discussion on the highly relevant topic of bullying will take place. Open to the public on Sunday at teatro Morlacchi, will be an interview with Manuel Agnelli, founder of Afterhours, in which he will speak about messages that general TV can send and about the influence of traditional media in a society where everyone moves at the speed of a click.
