Primi d’Italia edizione 2016 all’insegna dell’Amatriciana
Italian first courses 2016 edition under the banner of Amatriciana
If you are like most Italians and can’t resist pasta, then you can’t miss the festival of “I primi d’Italia” which takes place at Foligno between 29 September and 2 October. The entire old town will be abuzz with many activities. You can visit the Villaggi del Gusto (tasting villages), sample every kind of pasta and even top-rate Italian rice, excellent polenta, gnocchi and soups. Among other things, you can follow lessons and demonstrations by great chefs, find wines to pair with your first course, enjoy the evening shows and learn everything about the art of preparing the first course of an Italian meal.
Having celebrated the traditional national primo or first course for at least the last eighteen years, the festival could not possibly ignore the disaster that devastated Amatrice and affected its inhabitants. In the Cassero neighbourhood, you will find the Villaggio di Amatrice whose entire cash receipts will be donated to the earthquake-stricken town and its people. So for four days, for just ten euro, you can savour genuine Amatriciana, a solidarity dish, good food that will bring help to so many!
